The second level is that ambiguous precisely because imgur are trying to prevent their site from suffering the same fate that befell tumblr not so long ago after tumblr went full send on the total censorship/anti-nudity/anti-porn thing and all but destroyed their platform in the process.

Imgur have left themselves so much wiggle room with that ambiguity that it's quickly going to become a test to see how far they can push things before their community really starts to push back; and it's almost guaranteed that the imgur staff absolutely will test those limits over the coming months because they clearly wanted to go full send on this nonsense too, but the memory of tumblr's downfall obviously loomed too large in their minds to simply ignore it.

The question then is, does the imgur community have any kind of a backbone to stand up to this kind of nonsense, or will they simply just sit back and accept everything imgur does with this nonsense.

At this point though imgur simply needs to go away like tumblr did, to become yet another largely irrelevant and forgotten, barely used, shadow of its former self. And if that downfall can be another nail in reddit's coffin as well, then frankly so much the better.
