McAfee is a notoriously interfering (and not good IMO) security program.

I use (the free version of) Comodo Internet Security Premium which does a superb job at protecting your system whilst being relatively unobtrusive.

When downloaded from the IHG Support site you can verify it by:

    MD5SUM : 17bad5998288559529fda6ccab29e482

Can be verified by the following in terminal:

    md5sum ImageHostGrabber.1.7.0.4b.xpi

It is recommended to switch to the Pale Moon browser, which looks very much like the traditional version of Firefox (and works excellently in my experience).

    https://www.palemoon.org/

If you have a 64-bit operating system, there is a 64-bit version of Pale Moon: https://www.palemoon.org/palemoon-win64.shtml

Once installed, when you run Pale Moon for the first time it prompts you to D/L the Migratory Tool which will import all your settings, passwords, bookmarks, etc from Firefox. With the recent divergence of Pale Moon from Firefox, this is no longer an option, however it does ask you if you wish to import any settings from Internet Exploder Explorer.

    [Edit]
The latest version of IHG may be found here at the new support forum:

Especially now that the other most useful image downloader DownThemAll no longer works with the latest version (57.0) of Firefox. It is still fine with Pale Moon tho.

On a side note I have found this extension for Firefox as an alternative to DTA, which I haven't tested yet, but seems to have positive comments :

Re: The ImageHostGrabber (IHG) Support Thread

What is the last version of firefox that works with IHG?:
Does anyone know the answer to this?
This is the security question at IHG forums after one has exceeded login attempts and requested a new password. I can't remember the exact version, so I spent considerable time googling. I remember that IHG stopped working when FF required signed add-ons, and IHG remained unsigned. This change happened with version 43. https://blog.mozilla.org/addons/2015...refox-add-ons/
However, neither 42, nor 43 (you could force FF to accept unsigned add-ons in this one) are accepted as answers. I also tried 37-39 and a few others.
I even emailed the admin about giving me the answer, but i only got a vague answer back, he would not even give me a straight answer.
There is a version of Firefox at which point IHG no longer works, thus the last version is the version before this change.
You can look for what version of firefox which no longer supports extensions or add ons. Web extensions are not the same.
What a joke! I've spent more time wasting on this issue than creating 100 fake accounts.

Well if my post here is anything to go by then I would have said Firefox 42.0 or earlier.

Re: The ImageHostGrabber (IHG) Support Thread

I have been advised that it is possible to add IHG to the latest Firefox, i.e. override Add-on signing, but it looks like a lot of fannying around for my liking.

Proceed with caution and follow the instructions to the letter, at your own discretion!
